I spent some of my crafting time today sorting through my yarn, hooks, needles, and notions, trying to figure out what I absolutely need to bring with me when I move in a few weeks. I won't have a lot of space at my new place, and I'll be able to come back here on... Continue Reading →
Yesterday I said this was working up quickly and was that ever right! The short rows went super fast and I was done before I knew it. Even the seaming wasn't too bad. More importantly the spouse tried it on and it actually fit! Now I just need to make the second one before I... Continue Reading →
The resemblance to an actual slipper keeps getting slightly better every time I work on this. It is also going surprisingly quickly now that I'm into a section with lots of decreases. I might get at least one slipper finished before the new year at this rate!

An entire shelf of my fridge is full of cake for tomorrow. I actually baked the cakes over the weekend. Today I made the frosting and finished everything. There's some leftover frosting in the coolwhip tub. We'll probably put that on every dessert for the rest of the year...
I had a great day today, having lunch with a friend and then going out to the movies. When I got home I worked a few rows of my scarf. I plan to keep doing a little bit of knitting or crochet every day over the holiday break, but depending on my travel plans I... Continue Reading →
Even though we've had our Instant Pot for about a year, this is the first time I've actually cooked a roast in it. Usually we would use the slow cooker for this. The pressure cooker worked perfectly though, and it was done in about an hour instead of taking all day. A bonus of using... Continue Reading →
