Today was our annual krusciki day. They are Polish fried bow-ties from a recipe handed down to me from my mom. I think they are traditionally served at easter time, but we always had them at xmas in my family.
It took about 6 hours from pre-cleaning through the final clean up afterwards. We ended up with a huge pile of krusciki to give to friends and family for the holidays. This was an annual tradition for my family when I was little. My parents stopped once I got a bit older, and then I started it back up again once I had my own home and my spouse to help me. It is a ton of work and my whole house smells like crisco, but it just wouldn’t be xmas without krusciki.
