I couldn't stand the thought of not having bus knitting so I started another hat right away. I will need to find someone I like a lot to give this extra hat to. I love this yarn so much but I don't actually need two identical hats...
Bus Hat finished!
Wow that felt intensely fast! Just a few weeks of knitting every day on the bus and I'm already done. The pattern is Bankhead, and it was exactly perfect for bus knitting: not quite as boring as plain stockinette, but simple enough that I could knit mindlessly when I wasn't quite awake yet in the... Harmonize Shawl progress (16)
Tonight I got two whole rows done! No cables to blame for my slowness this time. Instead I will blame the margarita I had at happy hour with my friends. I am so glad that I love the way this shawl looks because it motivates me to keep going even though it's slow. I also... Continue Reading →
Harmonize Shawl progress (15)
If this photo looks a lot like the last one I posted, there's a good reason. I only managed to knit one row. I really need to learn how to c2f/c2b without using a cable needle. Maybe that will help these rows take slightly less than an eternity. The shawl just keeps getting bigger and... Continue Reading →
Bus Hat progress (2)
I didn't get any knitting done over the weekend at all. I spent most of my time cleaning and unpacking. My creative contributions were making a pizza from scratch, and putting together Ikea furniture. Since I don't have any new shawl progress to show, you get to see the progress on my bus hat instead.... Continue Reading →
Harmonize Shawl progress (14)
The lighting in this picture is bad but at least you can see the progress I've made this week. It has definitely been slow going since I got to the cable rows, but it looks fantastic so it will all be worth it in the end.
Bus Hat progress
I'm alive! And so is my internet! I figured I'd update you on my bus knitting first since that's what I've had a chance to work on every day. I've been experimenting with the schedule a bit to figure out what works for me. I discovered that the commute can range from 15 minutes to... Continue Reading →
Weekend Catch-up
The good news is that I moved out of my apartment and into a new house near my new job. The bad news is that since the move I have been without any internet at home! I've gotten loads of knitting done but haven't been able to update about it here all week. In the... Continue Reading →
Harmonize Shawl progress (12)
This is it. RIP my rate of progress. Most of the rest of this shawl has cables everywhere. I really love the way they look but they slow me down so much. At least this will give me lots of practice with them.
Harmonize Shawl progress (11)
I cheated by posting a mostly cat photo yesterday, so today you get an actual progress photo of all the work I did since last week. Mostly because I am back in my tiny apartment with no cats so I can't give you a cat photo again today. BUT! This is my last night in... Continue Reading →
Harmonize Shawl progress (10)
I'm back! I'm still not really moved into my new place yet but I wanted to post my progress anyway. I managed to get a few more sections of this shawl done over the past few days while I was at home. To be honest I was using it as a bit of procrastination/stress relief... Continue Reading →
February 2020 Goals
It's February already! This month marks some huge changes for me. I want my creative things to keep me rooted and help me deal with some of the stress of all this change. Completed in January: Diagon Alley Socks A Dishcloth (and some matching coasters) A different Dishcloth An Earwarmer Current WIPs: Giant Red Blanket... Continue Reading →
