I can’t believe I finished an entire cardigan in under a week! This pattern was incredibly easy to follow and put together. It did give me an excuse to try one technique I’ve been meaning to get around to for a while: foundation crochet. I didn’t use it for the start of the back body of the sweater and there was a huge difference in the stretch between that section and the front panels that join it. I decided to try foundation double crochet for the sleeves to make sure they weren’t too restrictive where they joined the body. It took a few tries to get the hang of it but it was well worth it. There was a really noticeable improvement in the stretch compared to using a standard foundation chain.
I had everything mostly finished by yesterday afternoon but decided to add the contrasting edging at the last minute. I finished the last of that up today and weaved in all the annoying ends. The fit is just right and it is incredibly warm, soft, and squishy. Now it has to go into storage until it gets cold enough to actually wear it!
