Stash Acquisitions

One of my big goals for this year is to reduce the size of my stash a bit. I’ve actually been doing fairly well with it. Although I have been buying yarn, I have also been finishing so many projects that my stash has still been decreasing. Then of course I broke down and added even more yarn to the pile in the last few weeks.

The massive beast in the featured image is from The Blue Brick Dyeworks. It is their Manitoulin sparkle sock yarn in the Nicaragua colorway. This yarn is destined to become a Wingspan shawl (Ravelry link). I can’t say enough good things about this yarn. Most importantly, of all the sparkly yarn in my stash it is the sparkly-ist.

The other two acquisitions are from Holly Press Fibers. This first one is what brought me to the shop: Princess Bride inspired yarn! It is on their Sheepish Sock base, in the Eel-Infested Waters colorway. I love the name, I love the color, and I love that it came with a coordinating mini. I’m still not 100% sure what I want to make with it but I’m happy to spend some time admiring it until I figure that out.

Finally I got this set. It’s also Holly Press Fibers Sheepish Sock. It is an “Iced Christmas Cookie” mini set. I’ve been having a hankering to make an xmas project, and I’ve also wanted to figure out some stripey or scrappy socks. This yarn will hopefully fulfill both of those urges.

Have you added anything pretty to your stash lately? Do you have plans for your new acquisitions or do you usually buy first and figure out what it will be later?
