Welty Socks progress

I can’t believe I’ve made 10 pairs of socks before I made one with a contrasting cuff. It’s not difficult at all, the only annoyance is having a few extra ends to weave in. I definitely like the look of it. This pattern (Welty Socks, Ravelry link) is very easy, but just interesting enough that I’m not falling asleep doing miles of stockinette. It feels like it is faster to knit this kind of pattern than a plain one, but I think it is the feeling of “just one more row” that keeps me knitting longer than I would on a plain sock.

Do you like the meditative simplicity of stockinette? Or do you prefer a little more pattern in your sock knitting?
