September was one of the hardest months of my entire life. Losing my Mom, on top of COVID and everything else going on in the world, was just too much for me to handle. Thank goodness I was able to keep myself steady by knitting and crocheting. I finished a lot of small projects since my crafting time was spent trying to keep myself busy, not trying to make anything in particular.
Completed in September:
- Fadewalker Fingerless Mitts – knit
- Bath Scrubby – crochet
- Funeral Home Socks – knit
- Tunisian Crochet Potholder – Tunisian crochet
- Seamless Circular Dishcloth – knit
Current WIPs:
- Wingspan – knit
- Ripple Lapghan – Tunisian crochet
- Hermione’s Everyday Socks – knit
September Goals in review:
- Start on at least one xmas gift. Nope.
- Try some sewing. Nope.
- Crochet something. Done! I made a quick bath scrubby, a Tunisian crochet potholder, and also started on a Tunisian crochet blanket.
October Goals:
- Just keep crafting. Things are really hard right now, and I don’t want to stress myself out with extra goals. I’ll be happy if I make it through October with one finished object, no matter how small.
- Work my way back to my normal posting schedule. I’ve been getting better about it over the past week or so. By the end of October I hope I can be back to posting every weekday again.
2020 Big Goals Progress:
- Learn to knit brioche. No progress
- Make at least one “big” project. Done!
- Either finish or get rid of any WIPs that carried over from last year. Done!
- Learn a new creative skill. I learned Tunisian crochet this month.
- End the year with less yarn than I started with. I made a lot of impulse purchases on top of my sock club yarn, to the tune of about 920 g of new yarn. I finished 237 g worth of projects, for a net yarn gain of 683 g. I’ve still used up more yarn than I bought for the year overall, but it’s a close thing now.
Here’s hoping October will be a much kinder month.
I’m sorry to hear about the loss of your mom 😦
But I do love those socks that you’re knitting.
