I seem to be trying to motor through all of my goals for January right out of the gate. I was getting everything together to start swatching for the sweater I have planned, and got a bit of inspiration. One of the knitting podcasts I watch, Sweet Tea No Shade, gave the suggestion of making a plain stockinette hat to use as a “swatch”. I definitely have plenty of yarn, so I figured I would try it. I like that it gives me something useful, especially since there is no way I’d be able to reclaim the mohair silk after it’s been washed and blocked.
I’m not entirely sure how I feel about this color combination. I think I like it, but I don’t know if I want a whole sweater in it. Luckily I have enough mohair in a different color to do the whole sweater, and I also have enough of the fingering weight yarn in a different color to do some stripes or accents. I will think about it for a while and then decide after this hat is finished and blocked.
