Acorns Socks progress (7)

This, friends, is what happens when I get excited about learning new things. I went from having just started the acorn cap pattern on one sock, to having almost completed both socks. The acorn cap pattern stitch is a bit easier now that I’ve had a lot of practice with it. The pintuck was painful, but at least now it’s done on both socks. I will not be in a hurry to do a pattern with either of those techniques again any time soon, but I am incredibly happy with the finished effect and my brain was happy learning how to do something new. The only reason I didn’t completely bind off the first sock before rushing to the second was that I’m a bit worried about playing yarn chicken. I figure I’ll knit the ribbing of both socks before binding off just in case I run out of yarn.

With any luck I’ll be finished with these by tomorrow!

    1. I’m not sure what the exact definition is, but in this case it meant knitting a few rows of stockinette and then knitting each stitch together with one from 5 rows below. It makes that lovely rounded ridge in the fabric.
