I’ve had a lot more time to work on my cardigan since I finished my socks last week. Part of my brain still desperately wants to cast on a new pair of socks right away but I’m trying to resist for now. I’m planning to join a sock KAL that starts on June 1 and I want to be free to cast on right away.
In actual cardigan news, I’ve made it to the brioche part of the pattern. It is very simple once you get the hang of it, but I can definitely understand why it is so intimidating. For instance, I don’t think I would be able to fix my knitting if I discovered I had made a mistake somewhere. Other than that it seems fine. At some point soon I need to put my work on scrap yarn or a longer cable so I can try it on. According to the pattern I’m already almost halfway to the split for the sleeves, but since the pattern is written cropped I will probably go for a bit longer. It is enjoyable so far, especially since I’ve had enough practice for the brioche to be mindless.
