The socks I’m working on for my spouse have grown a little bit. I finished the cuff and have moved on to the leg. I’m just doing a simple 6×2 rib to keep it slightly interesting and make the fit a bit more forgiving. He tried one on and gave me some feedback on how long he would like the leg to be. Now I can just knit and won’t need to bother him with it again until I start getting close to the toe and need to check the foot length.
I really want to try out the shadow wrap heel, but I’m not sure if I want to use these socks as the test for it. It would make them go a bit faster than a full heel flap and gusset, but I should probably experiment on socks for myself first to get a feel for how the two heels fit differently. The urge is really strong though, and it is making me want to cast on a pair of shortie socks for myself just so I can try it out right away!
