November 2021 Goals

I got some Halloween knitting and some holiday gift knitting done last month. Now it is time to buckle down and finish my gift knitting and then work on some projects just for me.

Completed in October:

Current WIPs:

  • Heel Toe Do Si Doe Socks – knit
  • Halloween Socks – knit
  • Wingspan – knit
  • Hexagon Blanket – crochet

October Goals in review:

  • Finish all of September’s WIPs. Nope. I might have finished my Heel Toe Do Si Doe Socks but instead I really wanted a second pair of Halloween socks.
  • Knit two hats. Done! One colorwork hat and one plain hat got finished.
  • Work on old WIPs. Nope. I had way too much fun making new things and just couldn’t bring myself to put them down to work on my old WIPS. Maybe in November?

November Goals:

  • Finish all my planned gift knits for the year. Sure, I might end up with a last minute addition, but I want to at least finish all the things I have planned out right now.
  • Finish my Heel Toe Do Si Doe Socks. These poor socks have been languishing and they don’t deserve it. I want to finish them because I also have some xmas self-striping yarn I want to get to!
  • Finish joining the current round of hexes for my afghan. This will be a stretch since I think I’ve only done 6 on this round so far. But I really want to have it finished in time to enjoy using it this winter and that means I actually have to put in some effort.

2021 Big Goals Progress

  1. Knit a sweater. Done!
  2. Complete a blanket. No progress.
  3. Either finish or get rid of any WIPs that carried over from last year. No progress.
  4. Make a return to digital art. No progress.
  5. End the year with less yarn than I started 2020 with (i.e. use up 1495 g). I gained 780g of yarn in October, and used up 287g of yarn on projects. Which isn’t great, but I ordered that yarn advent months and months ago.

Volcano Trail Cowl 273
*For large projects, I count yarn as used when I cut to change colors or when I use up a full skein.

It is that time of year…have you started on your gift knitting yet? Or do you try to avoid the holiday stress knitting?
