Witchling Sweater progress (9)

I got a few more rounds of colorwork done. You can see that my tension started out a bit uneven but now that I've had some practice it is looking much better. Right now I'm just about a quarter of the way through the chart. It's still a bit slow but luckily there are a... Continue Reading →

Granny Blanket progress (7)

I made a little more progress on this blanket. It feels like it is starting to get big, and it is actually about 40" long so far. That means I'm still definitely under the halfway point, though. It's still much more progress than I expected to make this quickly. The weather has been bouncing back... Continue Reading →

Color at last! On the plus side, the knitting has become much more interesting and engaging. Unfortunately the flip side is that this section is taking much longer than the plain stockinette. It is definitely going to be worth it though. This color (Neighborhood Fiber Co. in the Observatory Circle colorway) is amazing, and plays... Continue Reading →

Granny Blanket progress (6)

Here's the latest progress on my Granny Blanket. I spent some time trying to decide whether to use the purple yarn in this most recent row. Now that it is there I think it looks great, and it meets my goal of trying to use up a bunch of small bits of my leftover acrylic... Continue Reading →

Granny Blanket progress (5)

I've added a few more rounds to my granny blanket this week. I decided to mix in some white because I'm not sure I have enough of the other colors to make this as big as I want. I've already used up a few colors completely, and it feels nice to get rid of those... Continue Reading →

Witchling Sweater progress (7)

This is what I meant when I talked about not having exciting progress to show yesterday. Take a look at this sea of plain gray stockinette. It's no wonder I don't always feel inspired to share updates on it. I am still really loving the knitting though, even if it isn't the most photogenic thing.... Continue Reading →

Future Cast-Ons

No project photo today because seeing a few new rounds of plain stockinette is not exciting for anybody. I've been struggling a bit the past few weeks to come up with meaningful updates because of the kinds of projects I've been working on. Since I only have three active WIPs and they are all fairly... Granny Blanket progress (4)

I've been more focused on my sweater lately so I've only added a few rounds to this blanket. I really appreciate the fact that even a few minutes of work gives me visible progress since it is worsted weight yarn in crochet. It's folded up in the photo so you can't tell, but the blanket... Witchling Sweater progress (6)

I got a good amount of work done on this sweater over the weekend. Now I'm past the split for the sleeves by a couple inches. This part feels like it is going so much more quickly, probably because there are ~120 fewer stitches per round. I'm eagerly awaiting the point where I get to... Continue Reading →

Granny Blanket progress (3)

This project is just so easy to pick up and put down that I keep gravitating toward it. It is growing slowly but I'm really loving having a simple crochet project around when I need it. It's also nice that there are way less ends to weave in than my last big blanket project. I'm... Continue Reading →

St. Patrick’s Day Soda Bread

I made a loaf of soda bread over the weekend, and it was so good that we finished it off too quickly. So baked another loaf so we could have some to celebrate with today too. This is a really simple recipe and I appreciate the mindfulness of breadmaking.

Witchling Sweater progress (5)

I'm not exactly flying through this project, but I am still making steady progress. I've finished three of the four raglan sections of the pattern. Now the sleeves are the correct size and I'm just increasing to shape the front and the back of the sweater. I am very much looking forward to getting past... Continue Reading →
