I can’t believe it is finally done! It feels absolutely amazing to get this thing off of my needles. This project was cast on back in July of 2020. Over the past few years I have picked at it here and there, but it wasn’t until this year that I really made it a priority to get it done. By the time I was close to the end I understood the pattern better and was able to knit much more quickly. The only thing that slowed me down over the weekend was the second half of the feather tips, which for some horrible reason are done with all of the cables and decreases on the wrong side of the fabric.
I wish I could say that I love the finished product, but I’m still just not happy with this colorway. Luckily I’ve been doing some homework and have some yarn dyeing experiments ahead of me. Either it will salvage this into something I like, or it will have to get rid of it, which I would have done with the pink wings anyway. In the meantime enjoy this gallery of all my in-progress shots.
