March 2023 Goals

February was a good cozy crafting month. And I am getting better about letting go of projects that aren’t making me happy!

February Goals in review:

Finish my Countdown Cardi. Done! This project was a joy and I’m already debating whether to make another one.
Start a new project using advent minis. Done! I started a Funfetti shawl over the weekend that you’ll get to see tomorrow.
Brainstorm some projects to use up some of my bulky and larger weight yarn. Done. My experience with the Sea Lettuce Shawl proved to me that if I don’t love a yarn but still want to use it, I should pick a crochet project. So I plan to start a simple crochet blanket soon.

March Goals:

Start a crochet blanket. There’s still some time before the weather gets too hot to work on blankets. I want to make sure I at least get one started before summer hits.
Choose a cabled sweater pattern. This project will meet one of my big goals for the year. I don’t know if I will actually get started this month, but I do at least want to choose a pattern and purchase any yarn I need for it.
Make one small item. I’ve been focusing on larger projects lately, which is kinda nice. But there’s nothing like the feeling of starting and finishing a small project in a day or two.

2023 Big Goals progress:

Knit a cabled sweater. No progress.
Try yarn dyeing from scratch. No progress.
Use up my advent minis. I used up almost all of my 2022 advent minis in my Countdown Cardi, and started a new project with advent minis too.
Meet some local yarny friends. No progress.
Maintain net zero yarn for the year. I was weak and put in an order for a 3 month sock yarn club this month. I’m counting it all as gained this month but the yarn will come in 3 monthly installments starting in March. I did use up 493g this month for a net of 133g used. I used up more than I purchased this month so I’m calling it good.

*For large projects, I count yarn as used when I cut to change colors or when I use up a full skein.

I didn’t finish a lot of things in February but I did finish two beautiful projects. I am very happy with all of my projects!
