One Skein Wonder progress (6)

I'm back to a small bit of progress on this shawl today. I didn't have any time to knit last night due to an annoying errand, so this was all knit on one conference call. I'm suddenly much happier with this project now that I can alternate it with some sock knitting, although I'm not... Continue Reading →

One Skein Wonder progress (5)

This project is inching along. Work has been too busy to spend too much time on it, and it's too dark for me to work on while watching movies. Maybe I'll make some progress this weekend. I am very happy with how it looks and the feel of the fabric, I just need the right... Continue Reading →

One Skein Wonder progress (4)

I'm definitely loving the stitch markers as progress markers. Even though it feels like I "only did a few rows" I can see that it was actually several inches of fabric. I need all the peaceful, relaxing knitting I can get right now since my parents have invited themselves over tomorrow. We are being overly... Continue Reading →

One Skein Wonder progress (3)

I added a stitch marker so it is easier to see how much progress I made in a day. I don't know why I haven't done this before. It is much more motivating than staring at an endless sea of garter stitch! There's still not too much progress to show. I've been spending more free... Continue Reading →

One Skein Wonder progress (2)

Despite my best intentions I got almost zero knitting done over the weekend. I spent some time doing chores that I had been putting off for way too long. Most of my free time got spent playing games with friends instead of knitting. I did get some crochet done at least: I started on the... Continue Reading →

One Skein Wonder progress

This shawl is so soothing. It's just miles and miles of garter stitch. It's been a while since I worked on something so utterly simple and I'm quite enjoying it. Usually I like to build in some kind of challenge into my projects, like learning a new technique. Sometimes, though, you just want to relax.

One Skein Wonder started

I started this shawl over the weekend, and set it aside until my socks were finished. I've had this beautiful Blue Heron Yarns skein in my stash for ages and have never been able to figure out what to make with it. I really wanted to try a garment with it, but I just don't... Continue Reading →

Harmonize Shawl finished!

It's done it's done it's done!! I finished it on Thursday night, just in time to count for my monthly goals. It's not blocked yet, unfortunately, since all my blocking supplies are at the other house. Hopefully I'll get a chance to run over there within the next few weeks and grab them so I... Harmonize Shawl progress (29)

I finished the last of the lace! If you look closely you can see that I have started another 2-color section instead of finishing according to the pattern. I decided I couldn't stand to leave that purple yarn unused when I (probably) have enough to do another section. I am winging it a bit because... Continue Reading →

Harmonize Shawl progress (28)

The shawl is moving forward much more easily now that all the cables are done. The current lace section is already almost half finished. I'm leaning toward adding an extra section to bring the lovely purple yarn back in one more time. On the one hand I'm eager to be finished, but on the other... Continue Reading →

Harmonize Shawl progress (27)

I have been steadily working on my shawl and am officially finished with all of the cables! Hooray! That also means I'm finished with the purple yarn, which I am much sadder about. It feels like I still have a ton of it left, and in fact I weighed it and still have almost 30... Continue Reading →
